Questions people ask.

What is BaZi?

The Four Pillars of Destiny — a chart built from the year, month, day and hour of your birth, each written as a pair of characters. It is calculation, not interpretation: the same birth data always produces the same chart.

What is a day master?

The upper character of the day pillar. It stands for you in the chart, and every other element is read as a relationship to it — which is where the Ten Gods come from.

Do I need my exact birth time?

For the full chart, yes — the hour pillar and the luck pillars depend on it. Without it you still get three of the four pillars and the element balance, which is enough for most of what the site does.

Which I Ching method do you use?

The yarrow-stalk division, six lines cast from the bottom up, with the judgement drawn from Takashima Ekidan. Coin tosses give a different probability distribution and we do not use them.

How is Sukuyo different from Western astrology?

It reads the moon rather than the sun. Your birth date places you in one of 27 lunar mansions, and the relationship between any two mansions is fixed — so compatibility here is a lookup, not a judgement call.

Is any of this actually free?

Every calculation is: the whole BaZi chart, both mansion readings, your hexagram and its changing line, and the daily fortune. You pay only for a written interpretation, one at a time.
